Maveza Mbiyeye Eduardo has been the Executive Director of Alfalit Angola for 18 years. As a survivor of Angola’s long civil war, he saw his homeland ravaged and saw the impact on the people of his country. He is committed to bringing literacy to all and has dedicated his life to education because he believes knowledge will light the way to prevent such trauma from ever happening again. He is inspirational to hear, and when you visit Alfalit Angola’s classes, you see the results of his hard work and love for his country. He enjoys being a part of Alfalit because, just like him, Alfalit looks to help those with the least who need us the most.
Maveza has a bachelor’s degree in theological training and is the Pastor of the Missão Hossana (Hossana Mission) (IEPPDA) found in Camama, Luanda, Angola. He has completed numerous leadership seminars and courses. Before Alfalit Angola, he served as the Executive Director of Abundant Life, a non-governmental organization [NGO]. He is married to Grace, and they are the parents of six children, ages 15 to 33 years old.
