It Just Makes Sense
In today’s strange world, when two U.S. Senators from different parties work together, we need to take notice. On July 28, Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced the New Partnerships Initiative [NPI] – bipartisan legislation that will expand USAID’s global humanitarian work. NPI is particularly important to grassroots faith-based organizations like Alfalit that offer proven remedies to worldwide challenges such as illiteracy, poverty, malnutrition, etc. Alfalit International proudly endorses this NPI legislation because, as has been the case for over 60 years, we speak for those who are not aware that they even have a voice.
Why should you care about this? There are many reasons, but the bottom line is that stopping problems at the root cause has always been the most effective way of addressing issues that keep people from living the best lives they, and their families, can.
Proverbs 31:8-9 – “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Virginians and Floridians, please take a moment and email Senators Kaine and Rubio to thank them for their efforts on behalf of so many with so little. Be sure to mention NPI. If you live in another state, please contact your Senator and ask them to support the NPI legislation. If you aren’t sure who your Senator is, click here.
