The way, the Truth, and the Life
Bible Reading: John 14:1-15
In the past, I used to agonize over inevitable death, without remedy.
Now I enjoy abundant life, without end. The former life was in the past. This is for the present, for the future, and for eternity. Therefore, my soul exclaims, “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).
And it adds, “O sin, where is your power? I was called to liberty and life; now I am in liberty and life.”
The days in which doubts consumed me, fears tormented me, and hatreds poisoned me — all these have passed.
I am the same as before, but everything in me has changed. Or, better said, I have changed the path that I follow. In the past, I followed the thorny, intricate, torturous mazes in which sin led me. Now I follow the Way of the Truth and the Life. Now I follow Christ, the Lord.
Prayer
Thank you, my God! Thank you for Christ, that everything in me has changed. I implore you that your Holy Spirit fill me, and forever guard me in faith, in hope and in love. May my steps never depart from THE WAY, may my ears pay attention only to THE TRUTH, and may I never languish in THE LIFE that you give me. Amen.
